The Process
Valuing a closely-held business is a time-consuming, technically demanding task. The entire process generally takes a number of weeks, but the key steps are summarized below. To learn more about the details of business valuation, see How Appraisers Value a Business.

SPARDATA will keep the owner and his or her advisors informed via email or phone call throughout the process. Whether you want control of the process or only want to see the finished report, we allow you to be as involved as you want to be.
Steps in the Valuation Process:
Place Your Order
You begin the process by submitting a contract and information package to SPARDATA. Your project is put into the production queue when all documents have been received.
Initial Analysis
Your SPARDATA Analyst starts with a thorough review of the information provided. You will receive an email containing questions for discussion and/or a request for more documents and information.
Telephone Management Interview
A call between the SPARDATA Analyst and owner or management team is set up. We encourage you to discuss details about the business and anything you think is relevant to the valuation project. Your Analyst will also discuss any outstanding questions or let you know what additional information is necessary.
Discussion Draft
After a thorough analysis and internal review, a draft report is prepared showing our initial findings. We organize a
Feedback
We expect you to have questions after reviewing the draft report and encourage you to discuss them with us. You are welcome to schedule time to talk directly with your Analyst. We will consider any new information you can provide, but we cannot promise a change in value if there unless there is an objective reason behind it.
Subsequent Drafts
If your feedback is significant enough to modify the analysis, you will receive a revised draft. The review and revision cycle continues until all relevant aspects of the business have been accounted for and there are no further questions.
Final Report
